Easter Carnival on Straddie - A great family day out!
(23 March 2010)

This family fun day of carnival rides with the Grand Finale of the Fireworks Display which gets bigger and better every year  is shaping up to be better than ever this  year with a change of rides provider and new and exciting rides to be enjoyed by all.  Rides like the Dominator, Titanic, the UFO ride and the Donkey Castle with the Jeeps, mini quad bikes and of course the ever popular Baby Animal Farm for the little ones.

For the first time this year Straddie Sharks in consultation and with the support of Stradbroke Ferries, have arranged to have a late vehicular ferry leave the island at 9.30pm to return to Cleveland.  Any one from the mainland who would like to venture to Straddie for the day and stay to see the wonderful fireworks display will now be able to travel home Saturday night.  The Carnival rides will be travelling on this ferry but there will be room for deck passengers to travel home as well.

The Carnival will commence at 3.pm and the rides will stop at 8pm with the fireworks to follow just after.  Also  there will be 3 live bands entertaining during the afternoon on the oval and market stalls to keep the adults entertained.  An Afternoon Tea tent will also be on site for those who just wish to sit back and watch the action.  The Footy Teams will be manning the food tent which will cater for all tastes with Steakburgers, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Dagwood Dogs, Hot Chips and Ice cold drinks as well as fish meals and pizzas etc up in the clubhouse.

Someone told us the Easter Bunny is expected to make an early visit as well on the day – lots of chocolate eggs – yum!

The Club is at the moment selling wristbands for rides for $25 for pre-paid and these will be sold for $30 on the day so get in early and buy your wristbands now.  These wristbands allow each child to ride all afternoon on any of the rides, although a couple of rides do have height restrictions applied for safety reasons.  The only things that the wristbands do not cover are the Laughing Clowns and Lucky Ducks and there will be an additional cost for those who wish to try their luck on those.

Our Easter Carnival is always a great day for all the family, the local community and visitors to the island so come along and join us at Straddie Sharks on Saturday, 3rd April, from 3pm
