Save the whale petition

The Blue Whale is facing extinction right now, and we may lose this giant of the sea within ten years. Marine biologists fear that underwater noise pollution may be the cause of their demise. Their number has decreased dramatically from 250,000 to just a few hundred. They are the largest mammal on earth and the only living thing able to be seen from space.

Show your concern and support by signing our petition; we hope to add one million signatures from all over the world to show that people still do care, that they want action at the highest level to preserve the planets whale populations, and to present a united front to “SAVE THE WHALE” into the new millennium and beyond.  Please leave your name, the country you are from and also any comments you wish to make.

Humpback whales are making a comeback, and some say that the east Australian population has recovered sufficiently to allow for sustainable commercial harvesting. On an ecological scale...perhaps. But on a moral and ethical scale - how does one kill a great whale in a quick humane way? Impossible. These gentle giants either bleed to death or drown. There is no known method of harvesting whales where the animals experience a quick and painless death. Therefore, we shouldnt be killing them.

The IWC should be primarily concerned with standing up for the well being of all cetaceans, rather than governing the constant tug of war between pro and anti whaling nations.

End commercial whaling for good...PLEASE!!!

There are many reasons for which our decision makers should make a greater effort to protect whales and in general the environment around us. Not only for their greatness and the awe that they inspiree, but fundamentally it is a moral responsibility.

Earth belongs to all of us, people, animals and plants, we have the right to live in peace and take good care of it, not deforest ancient forest, not kill the animals, just for money and power!

What are we going to have when the natural resources are extinguished????????????

Think about what a precious treasure we have!!!! Let’s take good care of it.

Stop killing the whales!!

in today's world, we need to create, not destroy, help, not hurt, and begin, not end. that is why i am signing this. i want my kids to see a blue whale, i want their kids to see a blue whale. in fact, i want to see a blue whale, of which i've never seen. i know they'd want the choice, not for it to be decided for them, years before they're even born.

Everyone should sign as many petitions to save these beautiful creatures as possible. We all watched the plight of baby Colin and I believe that baby whale brought out all of our protective instincts to help save the whales as a nation.
