Stradbroke Island Scuba Centre has the best access to one of Australia’s premier underwater playgrounds – especially Manta Bommie which is rated in
the top 10 dive sites in Australia and one of the best places to dive with Manta Rays in Brisbane.
All of our amazing dive sites are within a quick 10-15 minute boat trip from our beach where we launch our 2 custom built semi-rigid NAIAD inflatable dive boats.
We have a choice of 12 varying dive sites, all with their own individual experiences. This wide array of choice allows us to tailor your dive trip according to your
experience levels, as well as which particular site has the best conditions on the day of your trip. Opened in 1992, Manta Lodge and Stradbroke Island Scuba Centre
is the island’s only PADI dive centre. Located right on the beach at beautiful Point Lookout, we run a full service 5 Star PADI dive resort offering daily scuba dive and
snorkel trips, all levels of scuba courses and quality budget backpacker beachfront accommodation.

If you've managed to adapt to the local "Island Time" pace of life on Straddie, prepare to knock it back another notch. The sleepy township of Kooringal comes alive in the summer & allows visitors to dabble in as little or as much activity as they choose...Mind you, don't try sitting still outdoors for too long or you'll end up doing the "bug dance"! (Insect repellent is a must for all visitors to the island during Summer - it won't take you long to work this out!)
Paddle the pristine calm waters of Day's Gutter on a kayak, take in the tranquility of the bush & spot some of the local bird-life, check out the scattered army ruins, whaling left-overs & shipwrecks, wet a line or turn it up with sandboarding, surfing, 4-Wheel-Driving, Quad Bikes or snorkelling at the wrecks at Tangalooma.
