 DENIS BROCKIE
Lives and works at Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island
1947 - Born in Kurow New Zealand
1966-1967 - Art training at Canterbury University School of Fine Arts Christchurch, New Zealand
1970-1972 - Travelled to United States of America, United Kingdom and Europe
1973 - Settled in Australia
1980 - Commenced professional sign writing, acquired skills associated with the trade including: legibility, rapid execution, bold colour and design sense.
Worked on murals, large scale billboards, shop fronts and semi-trailers.
1988 - Moved to North Stradbroke Island
2000 - Commenced first “Straddie Pictures” commission for shop décor, which was well received. Began painting and exhibiting locally.
2004 - Full time easel painting practice
2005 - First solo exhibition
2007 - Second solo exhibition
